School Council
St Martin’s School Council.
We began the new school year by holding elections for school councillors in the years 2-6. Each year has 2 councillors, 1 boy and 1 girl.
Year 6 – Layla & Jay
Year 5 – Mollie & Odin
Year 4- Sophie & Archie
Year 3 – Esme & Kyle
Year 2 – Ellie-Jo & Harry
We meet fortnightly, and will regularly meet with Mrs Walker, Our Head Teacher. We are looking forward to working together.
So far this term we have spoken to our friends and peers regarding improving merit assemblies. They key points that came out of these discussions were the children would like their teachers to present the certificates and they would like brighter, more colourful certificates. School council have chosen new certificates.
We have been asked by our PTFA to help them to design a new logo. We are running a competition throughout our school, we will work together with PTFA to choose the best designs, once we have done this we are going to ask our classmates which one they like the most. The PTFA will then start using the new logo on their letters and any important information about themselves.

My name is Layla. I am in class 6A and I am 10 years old. I like being a school councillor because I love to be given responsibilities and care for others and help the school environment. My hobbies are to go swimming and go to parties.
My name is Jay and I am in year 6. My favourite hobby is football and playing tennis. I like being school councillor because I am generous and very polite.
My name is Mollie. I’m 9 years old. My birthday is in April. My hobbies are acting and adventures. I wanted to be school councillor because I like to be responsible
My name is Odin. I am in 5R and I am 9 years old. I like being a school councillor because I like helping the school out. My birthday is in November. My hobbies are football, running and basketball.
Hi, my name is Sophie. I’m in 4J. My birthday is in January. I’m 8 years old. My hobbies are singing, acting and having fun. I like being a school councillor because I like taking responsibility and I like helping.
My name is Archie. I am in 4J and I am 8 years old. I like being a school councillor because I like helping others. My hobbies are playing football and riding bikes.
My name is Kyle. I am 7 years old. My birthday is in May. My hobbles are football and a bit of basketball. I like being a school councillor because I like to take care of school and help to decide things.
My name is Esme. I am in class 3C. My birthday is in June and I am 7. I like being a school councillor because I like helping people. My hobbies are reading, drawing, origami and playing with my brother.
My name is Harry. I am in 2D. I am six and my birthday is in February. I like being a school councillor because I like helping out with things.
