The twigwam reading pods have arrived in school. They will have a variety of different books to read and all children will get a turn. They can be used during playtimes and Golden Time and the first book selections are Roald Dahl books and Mystery and Spy stories. We feel sure that our children will enjoy having the chance to settle down for a good read in these cosy spaces.

 

 

We were very lucky in Year 2 to visit Asda to help us with our topic on planning a party with healthy food. We looked at lots of different foods and found out some interesting facts. Did you know that tomato ketchup is full of sugar and salt? We also thought about where food comes from and had fun spotting those which had a Union Jack on them to show they were grown in Britain.

There are 2 classes in Year 2, 2P and 2DW.

 

Mrs Davies and Mrs Laird are the 2DL teachers and Mrs Price is the teacher of 2P. Our teaching assistants are Mrs James, Mrs Young and Mrs Knock.

We do PE on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in 2DL and on Wednesdays in 2P and until half term 2P are going swimming each week on a Monday morning and after half term 2Dw will go swimming each week on a Monday morning.

We have a spelling test on Fridays.

We get our homework every Friday and we have to hand it in by the following Wednesday.

 

Mrs Price, Mrs Davies and Mrs Laird always tell us that we are all allowed to make mistakes so long as we try our best and have a go.

 

We like coming to school and we hope to win the attendance prize soon.

 

EXPLORERS

We are learning about Rainforests this term. We have found out about what the weather is like in a rainforest and what we would need to pack if we were going to visit. We are investigating

the different plants and animals we might find.

 

We are very excited because Zoolab are coming to visit and we will have the chance to hold animals we might see if we visited a rainforest.

 

We are also excited because we are going to visit Madley Environmental Centre to go Pond Dipping and more investigating of plants and creatures.

                                          

We have been discussing in class how to be a good friend. We think that all these things are important

 

• If you see someone on their own go and play with them.

• Taking turns

• Helping each other

• Letting people play with you.

• Sharing

• Cheer up people feeling sad.

• Being Kind
